Saskatchewan is justifiably famous for having the most dazzling sunrises and sunsets on the planet, with the Land of Living Skies putting on a show practically anywhere we go.

While this area of the province boasts some of the most varied landscape, it is often overlooked by tourists and locals alike. But it shouldn’t be.

Want to check out some of Saskatchewan’s most amazing landscapes but not expend a lot of effort getting there? Here are five of our favourite “bucket list” natural wonders from different parts of the province that are surprisingly easy to visit.  

Pristine lakes, beautiful sandy beaches, forested campgrounds and hiking trails abound. Spanning over 1,600 sq. km, Meadow Lake Provincial Park is one of the largest provincial parks in Canada. 

Gouged by ancient glacial meltwaters ages ago, and now stretching over halfway across the province, the beautiful river and valley provide a striking contrast to the plains immediately to the north and south.

With phenomenal birdlife and easy access to several wildlife hotspots, there’s no better place than Saskatchewan to enjoy these springtime spectacles. 

We all have special places where we reconnect with nature, places where you can go to walk peacefully, observe plants and animals, and just really fill your bucket. For me, that place is the Turtle Lake Nature Sanctuary. 

The journey is always part of the adventure. Half of Saskatchewan's lodges are road-accessible. Drive-in lodges are an affordable option for those travelling with families or groups. Anglers are able to experience the remoteness of a fly-in lodge or fly-out lake without breaking the bank.
